Merton Group have now purchased additional manufacturing machinery to expand its UK based paper production activities. As a supplier of premium quality disposable paper the new machinery will increase output and product quality, enabling customers to purchase directly from a British manufacturer giving them significant cost savings whilst maintaining a healthier carbon footprint.

Leicester based Merton Group has been supplying a wide variety of cleaning and hygiene products since 1978 and believes that its success is built around high quality and environmentally friendly paper products manufactured in the United Kingdom combined with a dedication to customer care and service.

Peter Cheeseman, Group Chairman of the Merton Group, said: “The Group has thrived over the last 35 years because we produce quality products and we always put our customers first with our motto of providing cleaning and hygiene products that don’t cost the earth. We also believe in two very important things which have ensured our success – the future of manufacturing in the UK and producing our products with the environment in mind.

Our commitment to the environment involves us using premium recycled paper ensuring the production of effective, high specification products. By purchasing the new machinery we will be able to expand on the range of products we already manufacture, create more employment opportunities and like so many other companies help to make the UK economy stronger.”

The procurement of additional equipment has resulted in the employment of extra manufacturing, sales support and customer service personnel allowing Merton Group to maintain its proven track record of customer focused care.

Through its dedication to the environment, the Merton Group has recently obtained ISO 14001 accreditation. Barry Aldridge, Group Marketing Controller, said: “Having recently acquired significant contracts within both the utilities and public sector, the Group is committed to delivering exceptional customer service levels whilst enforcing our comprehensive environmental policy. Complementing our existing ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System accreditation with ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System strengthens our guarantee of product quality and the continued dedication to our corporate social responsibility duties. British manufacturing is extremely important to us as we believe that organisations such as ours will bring stability to the economy and provide a positive solution to the United Kingdom’s financial recovery”.
